National Program Coordinator

In underserved communities across the country, our AmeriCorps leaders teach students about healthy food through hands-on lessons, partner with farmers and food service workers to create nutritious and delicious school meals, and collaborate with communities to ensure a long-term culture of health. What We’re Looking For:
FoodCorps seeks a National Program Coordinator to work closely with and provide essential administrative support for our National Program Management team. Reporting to the National Program Operations Manager, the Coordinator will provide direct support to 18 field offices and 250+ AmeriCorps service members, support Programs department staff individually and collectively, and oversee several key projects according to the FoodCorps program cycle.
This is a full-time position based in FoodCorps’ Portland, Oregon office with occasional out-of-state travel. This role will require occasional weekend and evening work.

Develop and implement efficient communications, processes, and systems for supporting FoodCorps’ growing field office team and service member cohort
Field general requests from the public regarding the FoodCorps service program
Provide excellent service in response to requests and inquiries from FoodCorps staff and external stakeholders regarding the FoodCorps service program
Coordinate the selection, procurement and distribution of materials and resources to service members and offices throughout the country
Manage and organize FoodCorps’ digital tools, resources, and documents and support field and national staff to maintain accurate records in FoodCorps’ various databases and file storage systems, including Salesforce, America Learns, Google Drive
Coordinate annual projects and special one-time projects collaboratively with staff in various departments across FoodCorps
Manage and maintain user information and access to FoodCorps systems
Update various internal and external communications annually
Provide administrative and logistical support for Programs Team events and meetings, such as venue booking, vendor contract negotiations, and scheduling
Skills of the Ideal Candidate:
1-2 years of professional office experience
Experience and/or demonstrated interest in the non-profit sector, food systems, social justice, community organizing and/or public service
Strong multi-tasking, goal-setting and problem solving, often under tight deadlines
Effective verbal and written communicator with editing skills
Ability to anticipate and address the needs of others in a caring, compassionate manner
Strong critical thinker who seeks creative, people-centered, data-driven solutions
Customer service and inclusive team orientation toward colleagues, programmatic partners and remote program participants
Comfort operating in a highly digital environment and proficient in learning new computer technologies and systems; previous experience with Mac platform, Google systems, Microsoft Office programs, WordPress, and Salesforce or other CRM platform preferred
Learning oriented, with a desire to seek and use feedback to shape your work
Self-directed yet flexible, excelling in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of FoodCorps or other national service programs preferred

FoodCorps pays salaries that are competitive with nonprofits of our budget size and geographic location, and offers generous vacation and medical benefits, 401(k) matching, professional development funds and a sabbatical policy. This position is a coordinator-level role with a salary range beginning at $40,000.
