What We’re Looking For

FoodCorps seeks a Brand Partnerships Director to join our growing team. The Brand Partnerships Director will provide strategic leadership and high-quality execution to the communication side of corporate partnership development and activation. The role is responsible for preparing pitch and stewardship concepts and materials that bring FoodCorps’ and partners’ values into alignment to create cause marketing programs with local or national reach and clear impact. 


What You’ll Do

Reporting to the VP of Marketing and Communications, the Director will work closely with the Senior Director of Institutional Support, Director of Corporate Partnerships and other Growth and Development team members to support and amplify FoodCorps’ relationships with our donor partners.

The Brand Partnerships Director will serve in an account service role, providing day-to-day relationship management for the communications and marketing needs of high-potential corporate partnerships, including cultivation, stewardship, communication and issue resolution. Additionally, the role will be responsible for collaborating with colleagues to ideate, present and execute on partnerships with mission-aligned corporations. The Director will be responsible for executing and/or delegating relevant deliverables to other team members, and managing and maintaining marketing and communications deliverables and timelines throughout the full relationship life cycle. 

This role is client/partner-facing, in support of primary relationship managers on the fundraising team. Both strategic and creative, you will serve as the marketing and communications counsel to corporate partnerships team members. 

In addition to responsibilities related to corporate partnerships, the Director will play a leading role in FoodCorps’ engagement of celebrities, athletes, and influencers, as we identify mutually beneficial opportunities to promote FoodCorps’ brand and work.

This is a full-time position, based in FoodCorps’ New York City office.

 

Who You Are

You are passionate about food, kids, and social justice issues.  Equity, diversity and inclusion matter to you and you apply that lens to every aspect of your work.  You have 5-7 years of experience working with major brands in a senior account management capacity. You have excellent client relations and communications skills, and experience working in and/or with large, marketing-oriented companies or within a nonprofit organizations’ partnerships or marketing departments. You are an effective team collaborator and leader with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You thrive in a fast-paced environment. You love creating campaigns with clients/partners that include thought leadership, product launch, and/or policy activations/calls to action to achieve mutual goals. You have an uncanny ability and ease with which to counsel clients/partners and internal teams on creative opportunities to showcase partnerships. You have strong experience negotiating with and influencing key decision makers. You believe in using metrics and reporting to ensure partner’s monthly, quarterly and annual goals are always met or exceeded. 


Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide cross-functional ideation for FoodCorps’ highest potential corporate partners

  • Craft and sell compelling opportunities that demonstrate a clear understanding of client/partner values

  • Prepare strategy-centered presentations and present to senior-level clients or partners

  • Serve as the liaison between communications and corporate partnerships team. Help direct communication efforts and related resources. 

  • Actively consult with and, as needed, partner in execution with PR firm on media outreach activities, story development, local activation strategies and event planning related to corporate partners.

  • Bring a client/partner-focused attitude that results in work being performed to the highest quality standards

  • Provide counsel to junior members of the team to ensure execution with timely and high-quality results

  • Allocate staff resources in an efficient manner

  • Ensure high-touch, responsive management of marketing and communications commitments throughout partnership life cycle

  • Leverage existing celebrity and influencer relationships to build the FoodCorps brand


Skills of ideal candidate

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, specifically for interacting with the media, donors, the general public, network members, community groups and senior management.

  • 5+ years of client-facing relationship management experience to achieve clear deliverables.

  • Problem solve, handle crises, and make and communicate quick decisions.

  • Strong ability to prioritize within a fast-paced, growth-minded organization while managing multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Ensure work product confidentiality for various campaigns’ distinct and strategic components.  

  • Exceptional client service skills and ability to counsel and interact effectively with senior management at client/partner organizations

  • Personal leadership skills—with demonstrated experience managing accounts—and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team; strong project, people management and relationship building skills with a customer-service focus.

  • Able to influence, consult and build relationships at the executive level

  • Strong collaborator; flexible/adaptable; always willing to pitch in with teammates to get the job done

  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting and staff allocation.

FoodCorps pays salaries that are competitive with nonprofits of our budget size and geographic location, and offers generous vacation and medical benefits, 401(k) matching, professional development funds and a sabbatical policy. This position is a Director level role with a salary range starting at $100,000.
