What We’re Looking For

FoodCorps is seeking an experienced Salesforce Platform Director to join our Business Operations team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Business Operations and Systems, and working collaboratively across the organization, this person is responsible for leading Salesforce platform development technologically, strategically, and operationally. 

The successful candidate will step into an ambitious multi-year project to build a service experience platform (the future home of service recruitment, impact activity tracking, and learning) through the implementation of Salesforce Communities (Experience Cloud), integrated with a highly customized Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) org. The role will work closely with internal subject matter experts, as well as external partners to establish a holistic vision of the FoodCorps Salesforce ecosystem and implement ideas into reality. The Salesforce Platform Director will also work with users who are utilizing Salesforce for fundraising, communications, and evaluation to deliver additional features and resolve bug fixes as necessary.

This is a full-time position that can be based remotely with preference given to one of our office locations: Portland, OR, New York City, or D.C.

You thrive in identifying and translating business needs, leading the iterative design of solutions, and guiding stakeholders through change management. You can articulate the big picture and question assumptions of the current approach. You have the ability to organize and manage priorities across multiple stakeholders while ensuring a sustainable pace of work. You have a track record of delivering key initiatives, such as technology migrations, new product launches, deployment of business applications, and reducing costs and inefficiencies. Your superpower is taking needs and using technology to meet them while consistently centering the people the technology is meant to serve.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform business and technical analysis, document user stories, business process flows, and create comprehensive business requirements and user-centered design documentation.

  • Design and implement customizations and enhancements (flows, workflows, formulas, custom objects and fields, sharing rules, page layouts, reports, and dashboards).

  • Manage the testing process; create test plans and scripts, coordinate participants, and evaluate results.

  • Mobilize users to perform data upkeep through duplicate management, report management, and dashboard development.

  • Manage security, users, roles, profiles, groups, queues, lists, and other variables.

  • Lead efforts to grow the platform through new applications and technology as needed.

  • Manage outside consultants, provide guidance on solution requirements, technical design, and integration.

  • Provide ongoing end-user training, including one-on-one for new staff and ongoing education for all users as needed.

  • Provide users with technical support, and log and track system problems through resolution.

Ideal Skills of the Candidate:

  • Experience managing CRM platforms (Salesforce, CiviCRM, Salsa, Neon, etc) 

  • 3+ years of experience administering, configuring, and customizing Salesforce orgs

  • Salesforce certifications a plus

  • Experience in system architecture, development, and Integration using Salesforce and other cloud-based platforms (specifically as they relate to the above responsibilities)

  • Proven ability to translate business needs into technological solutions.

  • Project management experience with external and internal teams – ability to problem-solve across diverse stakeholders.

  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with staff at all levels, particularly with non-technical partners.

  • Experience leading change management and organizational readiness activities.

  • Experience training end-users

  • The ability to anticipate needs and a passion for creating equitable solutions.

FoodCorps pays salaries that are comparable to nonprofits of our budget size and geographic location, and offers generous vacation and medical benefits, 401(k) matching, professional development funds, and a sabbatical policy. This position has an annual salary range of $90,000-95,000/yr.
